Public information staff provides direct assistance to the public in response to telephone or in-person inquiries at the City Information Center, answering approximately 100,000 telephone calls each year.
The responsibilities of the City Information Center include:
- Distribute Citywide news, press releases, and updates.
- Administer the Citizen Services Directory, a searchable database of phone numbers and addresses of City departments, programs, and agencies
- Maintain Just Call, a directory of nearly 400 recorded messages on City services and services provided by other agencies
